Flowise

Overview

Flowise is an open-source, drag-and-drop platform for building AI agents and LLM applications visually. It was originally built on LangChain.

What it does

Users assemble chat assistants, single-agent and multi-agent systems, and workflow orchestration on a canvas via Agentflow (a superset of its earlier Chatflow and Assistant builders). It ships ready-to-use templates and conversational agents with memory, and can deploy on major clouds or via managed Flowise Cloud.

Classification note

Flowise is a building platform, not an end-user agent. The autonomy of anything you build depends on the flow you design, so we list it as supervised-agent conservatively.

Integrations & setup

Self-host on AWS, Azure, GCP, Railway, or Render, or use Flowise Cloud. Model-agnostic with function calling and MCP support.

Pricing

Self-hosting is free and open source. Flowise Cloud offers managed paid plans.

Best for / not for

Best for builders who want to prototype and ship LLM apps and agents visually without writing orchestration code. Less suited to teams needing enterprise governance out of the box or guaranteed autonomous behavior.

Alternatives

Langflow is the closest visual builder; Dify adds RAG and model management; Stack AI targets enterprise no-code; n8n is automation-first.
